The Dominican Republic has mainly a subtropical climate characterized by climatic variation from semiarid to semi humid. The Tropic of Cancer crosses the northern part of the island, which guarantees excellent atmospheric conditions throughout the year, similar to the rest of the countries of the Greater Antilles: Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti and Jamaica.
The average temperature ranges between 23 º C and 32 º C. The Caribbean region may be affected by tropical storms, especially from August to November during the hurricane season. In general, there are two rainy seasons: the first from April to June and the other from September to November. The months from December to March are usually characterized by having lower levels of rainfall.
